Business owners don't plan to fail, but they sometimes fail to plan.

In this workshop you will work on sections of your Business Plan. If you have already started to write your plan, bring the draft of your plan to the workshop. Experienced SCORE volunteers will be available to discuss specific aspects of your plan with you.

During the Marketing for Success workshop there will be breakout sessions where participants can interact with SCORE members in defining position in the marketplace, determine promotional mix and fine tune selling presentation.

This session covers the basics of using Quickbooks and its key features.  The instructor will use PowerPoint and Quickbooks to discuss and demo:

• Chart of Accounts and various lists
• Customers and sales
• Vendors and expenses or purchases

• Financial statements and reports
• Journal entries, etc., as time allows

We have two workshops scheduled for the 2010 tax year. Both cover the Schedule C for your business and discuss key items of expenses. The second half covers the individual Form 1040 for the owner. It integrates the Schedule C and discusses options available to the Self-Employed business owner.
